Tried Nvidia surround for the first time last might. Completely changes my Project Cars experience. Hard to get used to looking to the left and right monitor. Sorry for the potato pic! Almost makes up for not having a track day. ALMOST... not quite.

Nice setup! I’ve never tried multiple monitors. Do they all have to be the same resolution or can you have different screens?

Now try iRacing ;)

I’ve always wanted to do this, but given that my monitors are all different sizes (30” 2560x1600, 25” 1920x1080, 24” 1920x1200) it wouldn’t work too well.

Oh yeah. Nvidia surround was a real d***trying to set up. I almost quit trying a few times.

They have to have the same refresh rate and polarity, even tho no one will exactly say how to find out polarity in the forums. I just got 2 more of the same exact monitors to match the one i had to be really sure they matched.

I want to get a better wheel with more brake feel and a real shifter before I do iRacing. I don’t want to run into too many people lol

Trying to err’day

What are you running now? I’m just using a G27 pedal and wheel set. I use a Thrustmaster TH8RS shifter, though. The G27’s shifter’s a plastic piece of shit that breaks. Pedal feel isn’t as important as knowing what to listen for since you’re mostly going to be listening for audio cues for lockups and such. It’s way harder than pCars. You’ll need to practice lots before attempting to race.

I’m running the old ps3 gt3 wheel. I decided to get a cheap one in case I didn’t lilikeje the whole “in home simulator” thing. It gets the job done. But now that I know I’ll be doing this for a while, I’ll try to get a setup like yours at some point hopefully!

Nice dude
Enjoying your 3.5 GB VRAM?
Lol/s
I have an Nvidia 750, I’m upgrading my processor+mo’board.
The price must be under $450. PLS HALP.

I think I still have one of those old wheels sitting around. Yeah, it’s a piece of shit. I’m not one to blame the tools, but a good wheel is pretty important. The G27’s wheel part is fine I guess. It’s not too too noisy and the response is pretty good, but in hindsight, I kind of wish I splurged a bit more on a Thrustmaster or Fanatec.

I can’t help with the motherboard thing lol I’m just getting into the master race. But newegg does usually have CPU mobo combos. I’m a Intel fanboy, so Id go with a minimum of an i5.

What a coincidence, I’m actually shopping for parts to build my friend a gaming rig under 400 right now.
For 450, I’d go for:
EVGA GTX 960 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc… ) $190
MSi z97 Gaming 5 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc… ) $150
Intel i3-4160 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc… ) $120
Or if you skip the graphics card, you can get this combo.
ASUS Maximus VII ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc… ) $220
Intel i5-4690K ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc… ) $240

This is the system I was just looking at for a Micro ATX case. The mobo and processer are well under $450. Not overclockable to save a few bucks, but a good system.

You don’t need anything fancy. I use a driving force GT which is like $100-150. I think the wheel even feels better than the more expensive G27.
And on iRacing, you’re gonna want to switch to a button clutch anyways. My setup is use the shifter for shifting and the left paddle shift button for clutch.

How much does it help? I’ve theorized that being able to see more left and right would really help. For some games, dumb AI + not being able to see next to you = many failed races.

Yeah! It helps a lot when you properly adjust the fov. Mines is about 125-130. That way I can see the right side. Seeing the left isn’t as much a problem. The one thing that’s hard to do is to remember not to just stare in the center monitor.

Yeah that makes sense. I’m guessing once you’re used to it though, it could be second nature and similar to being in a real car. One day :)

Haha yeah hopefully. I’ll trying to get 27 in monitors in the bear future!
